Job Fraud Alert: Protect Yourself from Recruitment Scams
At Farnsworth Group, the integrity of our recruitment process — and your personal security — are top priorities. We have recently been made aware of a fraudulent scheme in which a third party is impersonating Farnsworth Group employees to contact prospective job seekers, particularly via email and Microsoft Teams using an email domain name similar to ours (f-w.com). These individuals are not affiliated with Farnsworth Group in any way and are attempting to deceive candidates through fake job offers and misleading onboarding instructions.
These scams are designed to trick candidates into sharing sensitive personal and financial information or downloading malicious software. We want to ensure that you are informed and can identify a legitimate opportunity with Farnsworth Group from a fraudulent one. Here’s what you should know:
Farnsworth Group will never:
- Ask candidates to initiate a conversation with us via Microsoft Teams.
- Use a personal or non "f-w.com" email addresses. All legitimate communications will come from an email address ending in @f-w.com.
- Request banking, credit card, or other financial information as a condition of employment
- Ask for W-9 or Social Security Number prior to a signed offer and official onboarding.
- Require the installation of any software or tools on your personal devices during the interview or pre-hire process.
- Request payment or reimbursements for equipment, software, or onboarding-related materials.
What to do if you’re unsure:
If you are ever contacted about a job at Farnsworth Group and something doesn’t feel right, or if you receive a suspicious message, please contact us directly at employment [at] f-w.com (employment[at]f-w[dot]com) to verify the legitimacy of the opportunity. We also encourage you to report suspicious activity on LinkedIn and to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
Stay safe,
Farnsworth Group Talent Acquisition Team
