Historical Renovation Commissioned
Farnsworth Group provided fundamental commissioning and testing, adjusting, and balance (TAB) services for the interior renovation of approximately 107,000 GSF of the Dallas Municipal Building.
The building provides permanent accommodations for the University of North Texas Dallas' College of Law. The renovation includes integration of historically significant elements into the project. Commissioned systems for this project included mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, building automation and TAB. Commissioning tasks included design reviews, creating pre-functional checklists, defining readiness criteria for testing, and creating and witnessing functional performance testing on site.
This facility accommodates an enrollment of 500 students. Renovations provide state-of-the-art flexible classrooms, seminar rooms, instructional laboratory spaces, an expanded law library, on-site clinic resource center, faculty and administration offices, and other support areas for students, faculty, and staff. Farnsworth Group became an integral part of the design and construction team to carefully coordinate the MEP decisions that impact the shell and/or the historical nature of the project.
