Rural Hammond-Henry Hospital Renovates Emergency Department and Laboratory

Farnsworth Group provided full-service architecture and engineering services for the design and build renovation of an existing Emergency Department in a rural Critical Access Hospital. The existing Emergency Department had to remain operational throughout construction, which Farnsworth Group took into consideration and ensured operation.

The renovations included aesthetic enhancements but also important functional improvements. A separate exterior walk-in entry was developed so that people would not use the ambulance entry. Also, the nurses' station was replaced, allowing for improved visual control of the department and functional layout improvements. Exam rooms were renovated, adhering to the proper size and complete with ICU sliders. The trauma room was made more modernized and revamped.
