Master Plan for Constitution Trail Addition

Farnsworth Group assisted BNWRD in creating a master plan for an addition to the Constitution Trail in Bloomington-Normal, which provides transportation alternatives to under-served neighborhoods.

The Constitution Trail currently has seven lines and spurs reaching throughout the community and the proposed Sugar Creek Branch is a crucial addition to the trail network.

Located in the underrepresented west side of Bloomington and Normal, the Sugar Creek Branch features termini at O’Neil Park on the south end and the Illinois State athletic facilities on the north end, all while passing through important community destinations such as Oakdale Elementary School and White Oak Park. The master plan acts as an important guiding document for three different governmental entities and provides implementation and grant writing strategies.
