Illinois State Capitol Building Additions LEED Commissioning

Farnsworth Group is currently providing LEED-enhanced commissioning services for the addition and renovation of the Illinois State Capitol. The historic building, constructed in 1875, has undergone multiple renovations and modifications.

The complete interior renovation of the Capitol’s North Wing includes life-safety and accessibility upgrades; door and window replacement; mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression work; and interior finishes. The project also includes a new below-grade cast-in-place concrete entrance structure, conference center, and connecting tunnel system. LEED enhanced commissioning services include design and reviews, construction and field inspection, start-up, functional performance testing, O&M training, and warranty review. The project is pursuing LEED Silver certification.
